The Project
This project required a highly customized installation of a Steinway Lyngdorf LS stereo system into a custom-built, ultra-slim featured wall in the main living area.
Technical Challenges & Integration
The client, an avid music lover, wanted to enjoy pristine sound in both the living room and the adjacent dining area, located 10 meters away. They requested a balanced sound pressure level throughout the open-plan layout so that individuals in both areas could converse comfortably without the audio being too loud in one spot or too quiet in another. Standard point-source speakers would not suffice, so we selected the Steinway Lyngdorf LS Line Source system, which projects sound evenly over long distances.
Our primary physical constraint was the feature wall's depth of just 150mm, which had to accommodate both the line source speakers and the subwoofers. To fit this shallow space, we utilized custom Steinway Lyngdorf slim woofers. The installation required millimeter-level precision, leaving a tiny 1-2mm gap around the cabinets, which we finished with custom-designed decorative cords. We also reinforced the cabinet joints and internal cavities to eliminate any potential resonance, ensuring a completely clean and uncolored sound reproduction.
Systems Used
- •Steinway Lyngdorf 2.2 Model LS system
- •8 x Line source modules
- •12 x 10″ woofers
- •P1 Processor

Installation Conclusion
The final result is a masterpiece of design integration and audio engineering. The system delivers an incredibly detailed, enveloping stereo soundstage across the entire floor, matching the high aesthetic standards of the home. *A similar integration of systems with comparable setup complexity: USD$200K - USD$220K.
