This installation required integrating a high-performance audio-visual system into a custom high-gloss media cabinet. The setup features Steinway Lyngdorf Model M front speakers, a widescreen TV for daily news and television programs, and a 120" motorized screen that drops down for a true home cinema experience.

Integrating a high-fidelity speaker system into a custom cabinet is a complex engineering task, as cabinet cavities tend to introduce unwanted resonance and vibration. To mitigate this, we reinforced the cabinet panels with thick front wood and filled all hollow internal sections with compressed rockwool. The specialized Steinway speaker mounting brackets further isolated the speakers, reducing resonance to an imperceptible level. To complement the client's preferred high-gloss finish, we had to carefully calibrate the lighting and projection angles to minimize light reflection and glare from the cabinet, which could distract viewers at the main seating area. Furthermore, because the system was retrofitted after all interior design (ID) work was finished, installing the motorized screen was exceptionally challenging. With no ceiling access holes permitted, we engineered a complex route to hoist and secure the screen through a small, non-optimally positioned access hatch, successfully aligning it with the projection path. For entertainment, the client also requested a karaoke system. To prevent bulky karaoke speakers from disrupting the visual harmony of the front feature wall, we deployed ultra-slim, high-performance speakers concealed behind acoustically transparent fabric. This gave the illusion of making them disappear visually, yet they remained fully functional. Finally, to address acoustic reflections from the full-height glass windows on the right side of the untreated room, we ran Steinway's RoomPerfect calibration, achieving a perfectly balanced acoustic environment.
